When we get a new pet, whether it’s an adorable little puppy or kitten, or an older dog or cat that we’ve rescued, we form a strong bond and connection, one for which we’d do anything. Before you know it, years pass, and the day comes when you have to say goodbye. Your heart breaks. You vow to your pet, who is now out of pain and in a beautiful place overseeing and protecting you, that you’ll never get another pet.

Take comfort in knowing that your beloved pet’s spirit lives on in every act of kindness you show to another animal. Your heart has the capacity to love deeply, and there are so many pets out there who need someone just like you. Embrace the possibility of new beginnings, knowing that your departed pet is cheering you on, proud of your compassion and strength.
