It is now one year since I helped my beautiful 17-year-old dog, Gus, cross over. Since his passing, every day has been filled with miracles and magic. My intention in sharing our journey during this new chapter of our adventure together, is to help you understand that your pet is still with you, bringing you love, support and miracles. Once we shift our energy and emotions to a place where we can celebrate our pet and be in the present moment, that’s when the magic begins. Here is what has unfolded for me in this short twelve-month period after saying goodbye to my beloved boy.

After Gus crossed over, our dog Marley really struggled and grieved. Marley has always been a dog that would cuddle, never growl, or bite – until I took Gus away and never brought him back home. During Marley’s period of grieving, he growled and even attempted to nip me. He was very angry with me. This was the first time in Marley’s life that he and Gus had ever been separated. I understood what he was going through, gave him space to grieve, and sent him healings hourly. I knew it was going to take time.

I found that taking Marley for car rides really helped him. I had planned to take that week off work to support Marley, but Gus had other plans. During our first car ride after Gus’ crossing, Gus appeared in the car sitting alongside Marley and started giving me homework. This homework included where I needed to go, whom I needed to talk to, what programs I had to set up (a healing membership program, to be exact), and he wanted me to write our story and said exactly what was to go into it. Gus, now an Angel dog, was on a mission! The night before he crossed over, he told me he was leaving soon so he could help me reach more people and pets in need, and also that he was sending us a new puppy.

Two days later, I received a phone call. I was being recognized for the work I do for pets and people and was going to be included in a 125-year-old book from Marquis Who’s Who alongside such greats as Oprah Winfrey and President Abraham Lincoln. The next week, I received a call that I was being awarded the Top Hospice Pet Doula and Pet Healer through IAOTP. I would be going to my first red carpet awards ceremony on Dec 2nd in New York City, NY, USA. I was speechless. A few days later, I received the Woman Empowered Award, the Humanitarian Award, and would later in the year receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for all the work I do for people and pets. Gus was definitely on a mission with me! I was very grateful to him and thanked him. He would appear with a smile on his face, wagging his tail excitedly, knowing that I understood he was behind all the magic happening.

Just over two weeks later, I received a phone call from my dear friend Kyla, who is the manager of our local Pet Valu store. She knew Gus was sending us a puppy, and I received a message that he was involving her in this adventure. She called me during the only 90-minute window I had available all week. A man had come into the store needing help rehoming his parents’ 22-month-old dog. This poor pup had spent his life forgotten and not cared for by a 94-year-old couple – one with dementia and the other with Alzheimer’s disease. Kyla and I both knew Gus was behind this. As I talked to the man in the store, I saw Gus sitting beside him, wagging his tail, grateful that I understood this was his gift to us. Not only were we going to save this poor puppy, but also receive a healing for our family, especially Marley.

Here is where the magic occurred. While the man was talking, I watched my Hospice Pet Doula pamphlet come out of the pamphlet holder on the table in the store, float through the air, and land on the man’s foot. It landed right side up where the man could see my face. All the while, Gus was getting more and more excited. It helped the man truly understand the love, support, and healing I /we would give this little soul named Buddy!

When we introduced Marley to Buddy, it was so natural. There have never been any fights or disagreements. Buddy has never made any messes in our house, even though he was never toilet trained due to living in a garage, forgotten by others. As I watched Buddy get acquainted with his new home, I watched Gus walking alongside him, teaching him the ropes. The second time Buddy and Marley went outside in the backyard together, Buddy started doing the same actions of looking for birds of prey to protect Marley, then turned to Marley and gave him the thumbs up to say it was safe. That is exactly what Gus had done for Marley for 11 years of Marley’s life.

Gus has created a chain of experiences that led me to meet new clients for Pet Reiki Training, pet and owner healings, or sharing their pets’ messages. He has guided me to take breaks that would later show me the reasons why I had to do that to have the full energy for what he saw coming. When I went to New York City in December to receive the award for the Top Hospice Pet Doula & Pet Healer and walked up the stairs to go onto the stage, Gus was walking right alongside me, wagging his tail, so proud of me. After the New York City gala, I received a call that I was going to be featured on the cover of a magazine with an 8-page spread of everything that I have accomplished. You can see that cover and featured story with Marley, Buddy, my husband Ross, and I at https://asksuelondon.com/media/

I see Gus with many of my clients’ pets. The owners share that they found me in a crazy way, or my website popped up on their screen just days after their pet crossed, or Gus has led me to go somewhere, and that place is where I meet the new client. Each day there is something that happens that I know Gus has been working his magic creating.

If you are reading this, please know that your pet is with you. Tell him or her what you want or need. Like my Gus, your pet loves you very much and wants to bring you love, support, and miracles. We all have to go through the grieving process when we say goodbye to our special loved one. That day will come when you can celebrate your pet, become present, and that is when you will experience divine intervention from your Angel Pet.
