My Early Life – Loneliness, Animals & the Beginning

My journey began with loneliness and illness. I grew up feeling very alone as an only child in a loveless family, and it was animals who became my best friends, my comfort, and my teachers. What I didn’t know then was that my life would take me through two near-death experiences, both of which changed everything.

Near-Death Experience #1 – Age 21

At 21, I went in for a routine wisdom teeth surgery.
The next thing I remember was opening my eyes in a beautiful field of white daisies. I felt peace, warmth, and love everywhere.

Standing in front of me was my childhood dog, Spot. She looked at me with gentle eyes and reminded me that I was never alone — that even though she was no longer in physical form, she was still with me, guiding and loving me.

In that sacred moment, I understood something profound: death is not an ending — it is simply another chapter, a continuation of the soul’s journey.

Near-Death Experience #2 – Purpose and a Promise

During my second near-death experience, I felt my spirit leave my body. I was immediately surrounded by peace, warmth, and indescribable love.
I was greeted by Jesus and my Grandpa Buck on the other side.

Grandpa Buck gently told me I couldn’t stay — my work on Earth wasn’t finished. Jesus stood beside him, nodding in agreement.

They told me my purpose:
To help people and animals cope, heal, to be a bridge between Heaven and Earth, and to remind others that they are never alone.

Before I returned, Grandpa Buck said something I will never forget:

“We are sending you someone very special who will help support you, and through that love, you will help others.”

At the time, I didn’t know who that would be.
But in time, I realized he was talking about Ross, my husband, soulmate, and partner in healing. His presence in my life was not a coincidence, he was a divine promise fulfilled.

When I returned, my intuitive abilities grew stronger than ever. I could sense, feel, see, hear, and receive messages from animals and loved ones who had passed, and even those still here.

Life’s Tests: Illness, Healing & Love

Life continued to test me.

• At age 26, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, and later became President of the Crohn’s & Colitis Halton Chapter, helping thousands. I eventually healed from this disease doctors told me was incurable.

• I survived a life-and-death pregnancy.

• I survived abuse and divorce.

• Five years later, I met my soulmate, Ross — my gift from Grandpa Buck — through Toastmasters.

• I became a professional speaker, author, and together, Ross and I began offering pet therapy at McMaster Children’s Hospital.

• I was diagnosed with Stage 3 ovarian cancer and told I would be dead in two weeks without immediate action.

I am still here.

I’ve also walked through heartbreak and loss, including saying goodbye to many of my beloved dogs. Those seven dogs became the inspiration for 7 Dogs Media. I know they still walk beside me in spirit.

My Work Today – Healing People and Pets

Today, I serve as a Hospice Pet Doula, helping families and their pets find peace through illness, aging, and end-of-life transitions.

My work includes:

✔ A healing membership program for pets and their owners
✔ Tribute songs and memorials
✔ Children’s animal sing-along songs
✔ Podcasts, speaking, books, and spiritual support

Miracles I’ll Never Forget

Josh’s Story – “Miracles Do Happen”

One of the most meaningful moments of my life happened on my 40th birthday.

Ross and I were doing pet therapy at McMaster Children’s Hospital when I met Josh, a young boy going through cancer. We supported him with visits, love, and healing energy.

One day, I stepped into the lounge, and Josh was waiting for me, smiling.
He said, “Sue, I wanted you to be the first to know — my doctor just told me my cancer is in remission.”

He told me he had been repeating the affirmation from my Rocky’s Positive Thoughts Coloring Book — “Miracles Do Happen”, along with the visualization I guided him through.

That moment was one of the greatest gifts of my life.

Children’s Wish Foundation – A Bouquet of Love

Another moment I hold close to my heart was being a “wish come true” for a little girl through the Children’s Wish Foundation.
She had cancer, and her wish was simple — to meet “the lady who put a smile on her mommy’s face.”

Not only did we meet, but together we went into my gardens and picked every flower we could find to make a bouquet for her mom.
It was pure love — and I will remember it forever.

Cancer, Stillness & Healing Music

During cancer treatment, I experienced moments of stillness where lyrics and melodies flowed through me. These became songs of love, faith, and healing — now shared in hospitals, resource centres, and homes around the world.

Love in Action – Teaching & Service

✔ Teaching children at an orphanage in Tanzania English, music, courage, and belief in miracles.
✔ Serving on the Advisory Council for Patients and Families at Juravinski Cancer Centre, helping make cancer care more compassionate.
